Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Review

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster pays homage to the original premise. The gameplay loops around constantly slaughtering hundreds of corpses with whatever you can find. The game’s concept comes from George Romero’s films, so the game skillfully uses a scripted ready made.

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster Download PC confirms that the gameplay model invented a dozen years ago still works. It can annoy at times, but the intention of this refresh was to be faithful to the source material. The publisher cleverly juggles nomenclature and it’s hard to describe the game as a full-blooded remake.

Facing the apocalypse

Someone has brought doom to Willamette, a town no bigger than Raccoon City from the Resident Evil trilogy. Reporter, Frank West intends to uncover the truth hidden behind a military blockade. The town has been cut off from the rest of the world.

Frank enlists the services of a skilled pilot and gets to the site of a large shopping mall, the last bastion of the remnants of the local community. Due to an unfortunate turn of events, a pile of zombies bursts in. Frank from now on works two jobs as a freelance journalist and a hero rescuing survivors.

The plot

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is plot-wise exactly the same with a few exceptions. Dialogues were rewritten and recorded from scratch. The narrative smacks of B-grade horror films. Frank may not be the most colorful character, but it’s hard not to like him.

In the background of the massacre will scroll federal agents, for whom the welfare of the aging scientist is paramount. Frank wants to write down a comprehensive material exposing the brutal truth about the fate of the Willamette residents.

The scenario in the game

In the game under review, the scenario is divided into cases. Each case is responsible for a given plot thread. In between, we find moments for ourselves bushwhacking through stores, getting rid of more groups of zombies, or rescuing survivors.

In the back of our minds, however, we are aware of time running out. Not everyone will feel comfortable with this fact. The specific narrative in Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster takes some getting used to. The original strongly forced the viewer to prioritize where to go first, who to save, or just to indulge in the carnage.

Crowds of zombies

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster gathers crowds of zombies on screen. In the daytime, the dead are stupefied and fall after a hard hit. And to throw, stab, straddle and finally shoot there really is something to do. The arsenal is prodigious, and much depends on looting nearby stores in the mall.

Any sharp or bladed weapon has a longer life span. Players who remember Frank from 2006 will feel the difference. The remaster has streamlined the classic premise. As time passes, the density of corpses changes. At the end of the countdown there are so many that the game can slow down momentarily.

Summary

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is an attractive product. The publisher wants to see if the brand will still find its way in the current times. With that, it may be different. The original premise may seem too bizarre for players familiar with the brand in name only.

Of course, one can live with that. The story is a bit stilted, at times parodic and sarcastic. Dead Rising is more of a curiosity and an archetypal production in the trend of open worlds with zombies. That’s how we remembered it. This remaster is the best form of reminder.
