MySims is a so called cozy game and an alternative to popular life simulators such as Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley. The player takes on the role of a character who is tasked with revitalizing a run-down city by building houses, commercial properties and decorating interiors.

The first glance at this title immediately evokes associations with Animal Crossing. A view in a slight isometric projection, candy-colored graphics and a town full of sweet-looking characters. Despite some assumptions, MySims has little in common with the brand.
Yes, there are elements of life here, but they are of marginal importance. In MySims Download much more emphasis is placed on the aspect of building and creating furniture. After all, as the short prologue explains, we are the prophesied Builder who will restore the ruined city to its former glory.
A sweet atmosphere
At first, it’s even quite nice. The cozy atmosphere and the music playing in the background soothe the nerves, poking at trees and digging through the earth in search of objects needed for construction is relaxing, and the furniture creation wizard gives us plenty of scope for our creativity.
As the game progresses, more and more newcomers arrive in our town, and we help them settle in by building them houses and lending a helping hand in developing their businesses with the help of furniture delivered in bulk. The goal is simple: to achieve 5 stars in the town rating.
Gathering and creating
The good news is that collecting them has been diversified a little. Trees can be watered to make the essences grow faster or sprayed with fertilizer, which will give us a quick boost of items, but will kill the plant if we use it too many times.
To find essences buried in the ground, you first have to search the area with a metal detector. Some, on the other hand, you have to fish out of a pond or river in a simple fishing mini-game. Apart from that, there is absolutely nothing to do on the map, except maybe interacting with the inhabitants.
Enormous freedom
The furniture creator is both the best and the worst part of MySims. If you want, you can create absolute wonders here, from chairs to bathtubs, TVs and spy devices, which you can later decorate your house with or give to your neighbors.
However, they only have a decorative function, even if they can be interacted with. Each piece of furniture can be painted a different color using the essences found or decorated with them, placing a pile of old tires next to the stove or sitting a dog in front of the TV.
In technical terms
The good news is that MySims is technically sound. The game looks and sounds great and runs smoothly.
But we are talking about a heavily stylized production from 2007, so it would be an absolute scandal if anything in this aspect didn’t work.
Use the word port deliberately, because the newly released version, apart from a higher resolution and a few changed textures, brings nothing new.
Summary
Players like to play relaxing, non-violent games that allow them to express themselves, and the MySims series is, at least on paper, the perfect example of this genre. MySims offers simple, relaxing gameplay, charming graphics and well optimized PC performance.
This package will appeal to younger players as well as fans of the original games who are looking for a nostalgic trip down memory lane.
