Regular fights are dynamic and chaotic, often showing many of my six-man team jumping into battle at the same time. The view constantly changes, offering an exciting close-up of a critical hit or a sneaky counterattack, or pulling back to give a powerful spell room to show its full effect.
New to this collection is the ability to speed up these standard skirmishes, although since this also speeds up the wonderful music, it’s worth waiting a few seconds longer for the fight to end.
Basic graphics
Suikoden I-II HD Remaster has always been the more basic of the two games graphically, but after the remaster. Interiors look sparse and sterile, lacking the clutter and dents that would distract from the sharp edges and make them look more alive.
Shop counters are the same ruler-straight brown slabs they were five PlayStations ago, and everyone in the land seems to have several copies of the exact same wooden stool in their relentlessly right-angled houses.
