Avowed Download For PC
Avowed is the new work of the esteemed Obsidian Entertainment studio, the creators of the iconic Fallout. We first heard about Avowed in July 2020, although at the time we did not yet know what specifically Obsidian Entertainment’s latest work would offer us.
Avowed Download
We regain consciousness on a sunny beach, spitting out salt water. We are an emissary of an overseas power and have an important mission to complete. The exotic foreign land of Paradis is beautiful, but it is being eaten away by a disease.
An infection resembling a growth from The Last of Us is taking over minds, and finding a cure seems to coincide with our interests. The problem, however, is the reluctance of the natives, who look suspiciously at colonial outsiders.
No open world
Avowed resembles a mix between Dark Messiah of Might and Magic and The Outer Worlds. There is no open world, but corridor-based sequences are interspersed with larger areas such as villages and ports.
In these, you can talk to many characters, collect side quests and equip better equipment. Avowed Download PC on the illusion of an open world in places, but the game’s structure is closer to The Outer Worlds than Fallout New Vegas.
Corridor specificity of the game
The more corridor-like nature of the game means that there are more conversations and fights in Avowed. The world seems more condensed as well as concrete. Here a cave full of spiders, there a village overrun by reptile creatures, still further away a grove full of dangerous bears.
Wherever you look, there’s something to do, the game doesn’t let you get bored and doesn’t throw you into open steppes filled with procedural emptiness. You grab your sword, throw yourself at your opponent and swing your iron from left to right. Indeed, the game is heavily based on conditioning, dodging and counterattacks.
Mage, hunter or fighter
Regardless of the style you choose, the key to success is to dodge your opponent’s attacks, parry and play at pace. Otherwise, it is very easy to fall under the onslaught of enemy attacks.
In Avowed, as in Olympic fencing, it is important to keep an eye on the proper distance from the enemy and your own fitness. It’s not Dark Souls, but it’s not hack’n’slack either. Clashes are sometimes challenging and teach humility.
Confrontations in the game
In many RPGs avoid groups of enemies when see them from a distance. It’s different with Obsidian’s production. When we spot a bunch of orcs, we throw ourselves in their direction, testing new sets of weapons, skills and spells.
It’s also worth fighting because once sent to the sand a bunch of enemies is not reborn. So we feel that we are changing the world for the better. Or worse, depending on the plot decisions made.
Skills and statistics
In almost every conversation you can show off your perceptiveness, high intelligence, magical knowledge or intimidation ability, unlocking additional dialogue options.
It makes the numbers in the character sheet of the hero more than just damage modifiers. We shape our avatar, and later his character fumes when interacting with other characters.
Summary
By the condensed nature of the gameplay, everything is full. You explore a new place. You fight. You talk. You find fans. From one activity you jump immediately to another. The fun is intense, non-stop something is happening.
If not another character level, then a completely new type of weapon to test. It’s been a long time since a cRPG production was so intense to experience. It is worth adding that in Avowed there is a lot of jumping and climbing, and there is no shortage of underwater sequences and swimming.
