While the players aspire to deep graphics, an advanced scenario and a realistic artificial intelligence, it is sometimes good to indulge in visceral pleasures whose sole purpose is to let off steam. In the vein of a Left 4 Dead, the game of Tripwire advocates the multi-cooperative and massacre between friends. Hemoglobin lining the ground, eviscerating deformed creatures, flesh explosions … Killing Floor 2 download assumes its gore side and sets its pace and its constant tension to crack lovers thrills. With his monstrous guinea pigs, one holds a sacred specimen!
Leaving my partners may not have been a good idea. My chances of survival diminish as my hero sinks into the Paris metro. At any moment, enemies can jump and carry the fatal blow. It’s not for lack of lighting the flashlight and being securely armed, but it will not be enough. Hiding is useless, these creatures hunt human flesh and always end up finding us. They had been told that their experiments could cause the loss of humanity but these scientists at the small week did not want to know anything. Today, when cities are on fire, they only have the mercenaries to save their skin. But that the task promises perilous …
By wanting to clone individuals by the thousands, the planet has created its own loss. From now on, these creatures, called Zeds, break on humans (or what’s left of them) with only one idea in mind: devour and destroy! You will therefore evolve in different levels by having you pursued by an army of zombies. To survive, you can count on the support of your colleagues as well as on a complete arsenal, ranging from the small petrol to the rocket launcher. Killing Floor 2 will definitely remind you of the surviving SPFs at Turtle Rock Studios. Therefore, it is useless to look for a solo story. If the possibility of playing alone is present, it has no interest. To have fun and dive into a friendly atmosphere, focus on the online modes: Survival and Survival VS. The first is a cooperative mode that can accommodate up to 6 players (with multiple waves to face and then a final boss) while the second is a classic PVP with two teams – one of which incarnates the monsters – who start on the face. It may seem very light but it is good to remember that the title is proposed “only” thirty or forty euros depending on the version. And then, weapons level, maps and bestiary, there is still something to do.
Like any self-respecting game, we invite you to choose from a number of survivors: a Reverend who has abandoned his devotional role, an Australian globetrotter, a schizophrenic actor, a metalhead, a bodyguard and former members of the army and police. All this little world is found in one and the same goal: to exterminate the skinny creatures in need of bloody kisses. After selecting your slayer in good standing, ten classes are proposed: madman, commando, support, doctor, demolisher, arsonist, gunman, sniper, survivalist and finally SWAT. You are free to opt for an approach bourrine or more “discreet”. You will also find your happiness if you like to play with fire. Killing Floor 2 does not revolutionize the schmilblick but this diversity is appreciable and we find it also in the dozen maps available. Farm, mountain outpost, catacombs, biotic lab, kingdom of the underworld, jail, containment post and even Paris on fire … you will see some of the country! Each of the proposed courses offers a quality level design and it always makes a small effect when you find yourself facing a Eiffel Tower in flames, about to collapse.
It was feared that the gameplay on the controller is not as precise and frantic on the keyboard / mouse pair, but it is not so! The developers took the time to adapt the fights with good old pads and the result is really convincing. The games are breathtaking, it fizzes everywhere and we have fun instantly thanks to a very intuitive handling. Whatever the chosen weapon, enemies see all the colors! These are real explosions of hemoglobin that “illuminate” the screen and we do not even speak of soils that are quickly covered with an ocher hue. Between each wave of enemies, the program invites players to go to a capsule (the path is indicated by blue arrows and the position of the pod changes randomly), allowing to refuel ammunition and exchange the money acquired for new weapons. On this side again, the arsenal is not in the lace: guns, assault rifles, shotguns, grenades, C4, katana, grenade launcher … the paraphernalia of the perfect painter is waiting for you! Apart from the ultra-full arsenal, Killing Floor 2 also allows players to weld (or desolder) doors to contain monsters (but they eventually destroy them). Cooperation requires, it is also possible to get money, ammunition or grenades. Finally, know that you can treat yourself with a small syringe but that a doctor (one of the classes available) will quickly become indispensable in your team. The homogeneity of classes is important for the team to survive without damage and it is also very significant that the system of perks and the rise in levels are more balanced than in the first part. Compared to Killing Floor, palliers evolve more naturally, there is no longer the gap that we could glimpse from one level to another.
With four modes of difficulty and non-stop fun, Killing Floor 2 is a good kicker. The challenge is really at the rendezvous, we must help each other to get out (and not leave on his side as explained above) and especially adapt to enemies who are more and more formidable. After the basic zombies, you’ll have to defeat muscular creatures, howling sirens and even puffi, colossal gushes of vomit that can be clearly linked to the famous Left 4 Dead Boomer. Each monster reacts differently depending on the weapon used and must constantly adapt to the situation and the environment to save his buttocks. Everything goes very fast and pushes the player to boost his reflexes, especially when we arrive in the last waves with different types of guinea pigs. It’s just a shame that the interaction with the environment is so small (for example, you can not climb a car to get high) and that the sets are not destructible. In relation to these aspects, the game is a few years late. But the experience, as a whole, remains nervous and that’s what we remember.
Killing Floor 2 is really not to put in all hands and it is not trivial to remember that the title is prohibited under 18 years. In addition to the ubiquitous violence, the game also exploits an engine that gives pride to limb tearing and beheading. The “ragdoll” is also very efficient and gives rise to spectacular flights of specimens. The effect is also sublimated by slow motion that is activated during headshots and other strokes. By optimizing the foundations of its predecessor, Tripwire has not taken a big risk and delivers a trashy sequel, tinged with music themes lit and that should crack fans avid cooperative survival games. Attention all the same: the atmosphere and the universe are very far from a Left 4 Dead. For its creators, the game is closer in mind, a Dead Space.
