Ara History Untold Download For PC

Ara History Untold is a Civilization-style strategy game, with the action placed in a living world on a procedurally generated alternate version of Earth. A certain innovation may be the fact that the terrain is not divided into hexes, but into regions more in the style of Paradox games.

Ara History Untold review

Oxide Games, the studio responsible for Ara History Untold, is a small but ambitious team with a wealth of technological experience. One of the founders is Dan Baker, former chief graphics architect at Firaxis, who worked on Sid Meier’s Civilization series.

Thanks to its partnership with Microsoft, Oxide has gained tremendous financial and technological support, allowing them to develop the new Nitrous engine, capable of handling thousands of units simultaneously, which is crucial for a strategy game of this scale.

Several solutions

Ara introduces several innovative solutions that set it apart from Civilization. One of the most interesting novelties is the absence of classic hexes on the map, instead we have to deal with regions. This changes the way players manage their cities and wage wars.

Ara also relies on a more open approach to history, allowing players to shape alternative paths of civilization development. These do not have to be truthful. Oxide wants players to feel that they are creating their own unique worlds, rather than simply progressing through levels and role-playing according to the historical trend.

Control over the development of civilizations

Ara History Untold Download PC full control over the development of civilizations, from antiquity to the far future. The key plot element is not only technological development, but also cultural, political and military decisions that affect the fate of the entire world.

The game is divided into three main acts, each covering four technological eras. We have to balance between development and exploration, choosing which technologies we want to develop now and which to leave for later.

Encarta system

Ara’s greatest asset is the Encarta system, a huge database that acts as an interactive historical encyclopedia. It contains detailed information on leaders, technologies and events, allowing players to immerse themselves more deeply in the realities of the game.

This combination of historical facts and gameplay mechanics makes every strategic decision more meaningful and immersive. We can experiment with different approaches to managing a civilization.

Graphically

Ara History Untold made a great impression on me. The game uses the modern Nitrous engine, which allows generating huge, detailed maps with thousands of units. Zooming in on a particular section reveals tiny details, such as moving animals or people waving at us are small but satisfying touches that add life.
